Review of the Month- Brad Hunter & the Afterparty

For our first review of the month segment, we sent our music journalist Phoebe to catch Brad Hunter & the Afterparty at Albert's Shed, Shrewsbury. Here's what she had to say!

Leapfrog and Circle Pits...

From leapfrogging off Marshall amps, to circle pits, to flying QR codes and dancing around a bucket, attempting to grab photographs of the wonders that are Brad Hunter & the Afterparty is certainly a workout, and the fog machine in Albert's Shed doesn't help! Despite the cold and soggy evening in Shrewsbury, the trio, who headlined after fellow performers Barley Lynes and Gauche, still managed to bring their 'Sunny Day' to life.

From the riveting and raw rhythm section, who had everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) tapping their feet, to the emotionally heavy vocals and lyrics, this band truly have something to offer and engage every listener. The bands' energy and enthusiasm positively oozed out into a sense of feel-good community that gripped even those at the furthest recesses of the venue, with the whole crowd being drawn into chants of 'Like the colours in the rain...' (an ode to the weather outside, perhaps?). Because of this, our spirits, unlike our jackets, would not be dampened that night, especially with the event being bought to a close with the band's anthem, 'Punch Drunk'. Me and the rest of the team are super excited to see where these guys go next, so make sure you drop them a follow over on Instagram, using the handle @bradhunterandtheafterparty!
